Mr. Cohen has extensive experience in the preperation and trial of both civil and criminal cases. Mr. Cohen is dedicated to assisting individuals and families with their legal problems. Mr. Cohen strives to obtain effective solutions to difficult problems.

Approximately 50% of Mr. Cohen’s practice has been in General Sessions Court. Mr. Cohen has experience in virtually all of the different types of cases which come before the General Sessions Courts in Blount County. In addition to the ordinary civil and criminal jurisdiction given to General Sessions Courts in the State of Tennessee, the General Sessions Courts in Blount County also have jurisdiction over divorce, probate, and juvenile matters. Mr. Cohen has extensive experience handling small civil matters (such as landlord/tenant disputes, consumer disputes, and personal injury claims), criminal matters (both misdemeanors and felonies), divorce cases (including property division, custody, and support), probate matters, and juvenile court cases in the General Sessions Courts of Blount County, Tennessee. Also, on occasion, Mr. Cohen has sat as acting Judge in the Sessions and Juvenile Courts for Judge Brewer, Judge DeLozier, and Judge Denton. Mr. Cohen has the experience, knowledge, and background which make him highly qualified for the position of General Sessions Court Judge.
Mr. Cohen is a member of the Tennessee and Blount County Bar Associations, was Vice-President of the Blount County Bar Association in 2000, and was President of the Blount County Bar Association in 2005. Additionally, Mr. Cohen has been active in helping the United Way of Blount County and is a member of the Tennessee Farm Bureau.
